PIDC FUNDRAISING GALA DINNER

Beyond an exceptional evening of food and fellowship, the gala also serves a meaningful purpose. Proceeds from the event will support the Apl.de.Ap Foundation, an organization dedicated to empowering youth through education, creativity, and access to opportunities in the arts and technology.
About the Apl.de.Ap Foundation
The Apl.de.Ap Foundation, International (APLFI) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization
committed to advancing opportunities for youth in need. Founded in 2011 in the
Philippines by Allan Pineda Lindo, better known as Grammy award-winning artist
Apl.de.Ap of the Black Eyed Peas, the Foundation has since broadened its reach
globally.
Since its establishment, APLFI has delivered resources and support to young people
worldwide, fostering creativity and facilitating the construction of classrooms,
computer laboratories, and music/recording studios from Los Angeles to Angeles
City, Pampanga in the Philippines.
Currently, the Foundation’s initiatives are centered on expanding access to
education, the arts, and innovation for BIPOC youth, with the aim of cultivating a
more inclusive, creative, and sustainable future.
APLFI remains dedicated to empowering youth, particularly those from
underrepresented communities, by focusing on education and development in
creative arts, music, technology, and related fields.
Through the adoption of innovative strategies in arts and technology, and leveraging
partnerships within the entertainment and business sectors, APLFI seeks to provide
meaningful opportunities for young individuals who demonstrate creativity, passion,
and the aspiration to make a positive impact.
Organizer
The Philippine Independence Day Council (“PIDC”) is a non-profit umbrella organization of hundreds of Filipino-Canadian provincial, regional, professional, cultural and social organizations. PIDC is mainly tasked with the celebration of Philippine Independence Day with numerous activities throughout the year that bring together the third largest minority group in Canada.
PIDC began as a committee whose chair was elected annually by representatives of various Filipino-Canadian associations. To ensure smooth transition and provide continuity in its activities, PIDC was incorporated as a non-profit organization in 1997.
PIDC is also a member of the Canadian Multicultural Council of Asians in Ontario (“CMC”) and Festivals and Events Ontario (“FEO”).
