BK Jimenez or BKJ (more known as Baby K. Jimenez) is a well-known entertainment writer, columnist, publicist, starbuilder, and starmaker of the film industry in the Philippines. Her name has been associated with the topnotch legends of the cinema like the King and Queen Fernando Poe, Jr and Susan Roces (whose lives she has chronicled all these years); jump started the careers of Charo Santos , Lorna Tolentino, Hilda Koronel, Christopher de Leon and Jay Ilagan among others; has promoted topnotch money-making/box office hits and award-winning films by iconic directors and filmmakers which include Dolphy, Armida Siguion-Reyna, Mike de Leon, Marilou Diaz-Abaya, Danny Zialcita, Peque Gallaga, Ishmael Bernal, Celso Ad. Castillo, Laurice Guillen, F.H. Constantino, Maryo de los Reyes, Lav Diaz, Dennis Juban, Jun Urbano, Bibeth Orteza, etc.; has represented the country (Philippines) officially in various international film festivals; assisted Vic del Rosario during the early years of Vicor in promoting music and recording stars; has worked extensively with Lino Brocka, Eddie Romero, Ricky Lee and Nora Aunor – who’ve all been awarded as National Artists.

As an author, BKJ was judged as one of the young top ten writers of the country when the Lions International launched a nationwide Peace Writing Contest in the late 60s. Later, she wrote the life story (Books 1 and 2) of Superstar NORA AUNOR which were sold-out in the early 80s; currently linked to the FPJ mega coffee table book which will be off the press soon and starting to pen the biography of Susan Roces while a third book on Nora Aunor is also in the offing.
After heading the 24-hour Document Production Center of a prestigious international law firm in Los Angeles, BK is now based in Toronto as a prominent leading community leader/officer of big organizations like PIDC (Philippine Independence Day Council) and Sine Film Institute (that’s currently managing the First Filipino Film Festival in Canada). She is a contributing editor of Toronto’s Balita, acknowledged as the most widely circulated Filipino-Canadian paper. BK is a recipient of numerous awards which include the very important Quincentennial Award gifted by the Philippine Consulate, the Universal Peace Foundation and oft-times branded as outstanding in derbies of leadership.
Angelo “Eloy” Padua Award for Journalism – is an award given to entertainment writers in the industry who have great influence and expertise in the development of Philippine Film as well as having good relations with those who make up the art industry and fellow journalists.
